Chief Operations Officer (COO)

What You Will Do

Our high visibility, high impact COO role requires an experienced, strategic individual with demonstrated experience and knowledge. You will be driving the company’s core operational excellence in 3 of our global operations in Ireland, Malta, and Azerbaijan. COO is part of the Leadership Team and reports to the CEO.  The key success factor for the role is an ability to independently drive agendas and swiftly execute.

You’ll have to maintain control of diverse business operations, so we expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader and to have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics. You will plan, direct, and oversee the company operational policies, rules, initiatives, and goals. Furthermore, you will help the organisation execute long-term and short-term plans and directives by implementing judgement, vision, management, and leadership.
You will be responsible for developing an efficient operational model to ensure growing customer satisfaction, incremental revenue from ongoing business, healthy profit margin as well as support strategic initiatives, e.g. operationalizing M&A, new market entries, etc.

  • Establish and maintain key strategic and tactical plans for the existing business
  • Run policies, procedures, and operational metrics efforts
  • Be in charge of human resource matters
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of strategic business plans and budgets and contribute in setting best operational practice at a global level
  • Support and challenge the Operations team in establishing and fine-tuning success metrics and key performance indicators for their respective operations in order to improve profitability
  • Ensure continuous and overall cost efficiency and quality in operations
  • Source, establish and implement new operations business in new markets around the world
  • Provide clear and accountable operational objectives, development plans, improvements and status reports to executives, internal stakeholders and business partners on a global level
  • Drive participation in relevant business and market events
  • Manage relationships/agreements with key partners and vendors
  • Support in recruiting new key members of the teams

What You Need to Know and Have

  • Demonstrated operational excellence in managing existing operations within a high growth, high pressure transactional environments
  • Strategic, operational planning and hands-on execution experience, preferably in start-up companies
  • Experience in both designing and implementing operations from scratch
  • Several years of management team experience and of managing team of managers
  • Strong in business and financial principles and cost efficiency/pressure/awareness analysis and execution
  • Experience of motivating and developing young, 24/7/365 operations teams in different geographical locations
  • Recruiting and training in high volumes
  • Diverse cultural experience – would have worked in different countries or in multinational corporations
  • Prepared and willing to undertake extensive travel, 120+ days / year
  • University graduate, preferably with an Engineering and/or Business degree
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, other languages are considered an asset
